Terms and Conditions for Canine Conditioning Classes and Private Sessions
At Peak Canine Performance, we aim to create a fun, supportive, and safe environment for all dogs and handlers.
By enrolling in our classes or private sessions, you agree to the following terms and conditions:
1. General Participation Requirements
Dog Health & Suitability:
- Dogs must be in good health and free from any condition that could be worsened by physical activity.
- If your dog is unwell, injured, or showing signs of discomfort (e.g., lameness, excessive panting, lethargy), they should not attend.
- The instructor reserves the right to request veterinary clearance at any time, especially following any observed signs of injury, illness, or distress. A written veterinary note may be required.
- Handlers must disclose any pre-existing medical conditions or injuries their dog has.
- Puppies must meet the minimum age requirement for the class (e.g., 9 months).
- Dogs must have up to date parasite control, including flea and worming treatments.
Dog Behaviour & Control:
- Dogs must be under control at all times.
- Aggressive or disruptive behaviour will not be tolerated. This includes, but is not limited to, excessive barking, lunging, snapping, or any behaviour that poses a risk to other dogs or handlers.
- Handlers whose dogs display aggressive or disruptive behaviour will be asked to remove their dog from the session immediately. No refunds will be provided.
- Handlers are responsible for their dog’s actions, safety, and any damage caused.
- Muzzling may be required in certain situations at the instructor’s discretion.
Vaccinations & Health Precautions:
- Dogs must be up to date on core vaccinations, specifically Distemper, Parvovirus, and Hepatitis. Proof of current vaccinations must be provided at the first session.
- Kennel cough vaccination is recommended, especially for indoor venues.
- Dogs must be free from contagious illnesses or parasites. This includes regular flea and worm treatments.
Venues & Equipment:
- Sessions may take place at various indoor or outdoor venues. Handlers are responsible for ensuring their dog is comfortable in different environments.
- Please bring a suitable collar or harness (flat collars preferred, no choke/prong collars) and a fixed lead of no more than 2 meters.
- Handlers are responsible for adhering to all venue-specific rules and regulations.
- Owners must clean up after their dogs.
- Handlers are responsible for any damage caused by their dog to venue property or equipment.
2. Bookings, Cancellations & Refunds
Bookings:
- Full payment is required to secure a place in classes or private sessions.
- Group sessions may require a minimum number of participants to run.
- Accepted payment methods are Bank Transfer & Cash.
- If the minimum number of participants is not met, the session will be cancelled, and participants will be notified at least 2 days in advance.
Cancellations & Refunds:
- Cancellations made more than 14 days before the session: full refund or reschedule.
- Cancellations made less than 14 days before the session: no refund.
- If Peak Canine Performance cancels a session, you will be offered a full refund or reschedule.
Late Arrivals & Missed Sessions:
- Please arrive on time. Late arrivals may not be able to join if it disrupts the class. Participants arriving more than 20 minutes late will not be permitted to join the session and will forfeit their fee.
- Missed sessions are non-refundable unless agreed upon in advance.
Rescheduling:
- Transfers to another session are permitted with at least 14 days’ notice. A £20 transfer fee may apply. Sessions can be rescheduled a maximum of 2 times.
Waiting Lists:
- If a class is full, you may be added to a waiting list. You will be contacted if a space becomes available.
3. Risk & Liability
- Participation involves inherent risks, including potential injury to dogs, handlers, or property. These risks include, but are not limited to, dog bites, scratches, falls, and collisions. By attending, you accept these risks.
- Peak Canine Performance is not liable for injuries or damages, except in cases of gross negligence.
- Handlers remain fully responsible for their dog’s welfare and behaviour at all times.
- Handlers are responsible for any damage or injury caused by their dog to third parties.
- Handlers have a duty of care to monitor their dog's well-being and to remove their dog from the session if necessary.
4. Class Etiquette & Expectations
- Respect other dogs, handlers, and the instructor—no disruptive behaviour.
- Handlers must follow all instructor guidance to ensure a safe and productive session.
- Owners should stay in class for the duration unless otherwise instructed.
- Please minimise distractions during class, including silencing mobile phones.
5. Photography & Data Protection
- Photos/videos may be taken during sessions for promotional purposes (e.g., social media, website). If you’d prefer not to be included, please inform the instructor prior to the session.
- Images used on social media will not identify people or dogs by name without prior permission.
- Personal data will be securely stored and used only for communication regarding sessions.
- You have the right to access, rectify, and delete your personal data.
- Peak Canine Performance complies with GDPR regulations.
6. Emergency Procedures
- In case of a medical emergency, handlers are responsible for seeking veterinary care.
- First aid equipment is available on-site.
- Instructors are first aid trained.
- Emergency contact information must be provided during enrolment.
- Contact information for a local veterinarian is available on-site.
7. Weather Conditions (for Outdoor Sessions)
- Outdoor sessions may be rescheduled in cases of extreme weather (e.g., storms, heatwaves, temperatures above [Temperature] degrees Celsius, high winds).
- Participants will be notified of cancellations via email/text message as early as possible.
- Alternative arrangements may be offered for cancelled outdoor sessions (e.g., indoor sessions, online resources).
Additional Clauses:
- Governing Law: These terms and conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of United Kingdom.
- Amendments: Peak Canine Performance reserves the right to amend these terms and conditions at any time.
- Entire Agreement: These terms and conditions constitute the entire agreement between you and Peak Canine Performance.
- Severability: If any provision of this agreement is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.
- Force Majeure: Peak Canine Performance shall not be liable for any failure or delay in performing its obligations under this agreement due to circumstances beyond its reasonable control, including but not limited to acts of God, natural disasters, war, terrorism, and strikes.
